Quickie Curtain Update in the Study

We bought our home nearly a year ago which is making a few items on the to-do list, like curtains for my study, start to glare at me.

A pair of neutral curtains should be super-simple, right?  Nope, not if it’s a room you don’t want to splurge on and those curtains need to be 108″ long for the look you’re going for.  I was completely annoyed at my options since long-length curtains can only be purchased from super-mark-it-up stores and pricey window boutiques.  When they are available elsewhere, they are often dated, boring, and just plain “blah”.

But the space clearly needed curtains.  Not for function, but to warm up the space, frame those enormous windows, and show off the beautifully tall ceiling.

FINALLY, I saw that West Elm and one of my short-list curtains on sale, 50% off.  They are neutral with a little pattern and finally something that wouldn’t break the bank.  $24.99 for a pair of 108″ curtains?  Yes please.  Gimme, gimme, gimme.

When the box came, I couldn’t get them up fast enough.  I’ve been frustrated that my study has been neglected in favor of community spaces since I use it every day as a stay-at-home-working-mother (what a mouth-full).  There is still a lot to do in the study because I’ve been seriously re-thinking some things I had initially done in the after-paint rush to make the space functional, but these curtains really did make a great impact.

The curtains are still available and still on sale at the time of this post so if you love them, here’s the link!

Now if you love floor to ceiling (or at least top-of-window) curtains like I do, take a moment and write your favorite shops about it.  I don’t know many people who haven’t shared this frustration with me, so I know there is an untapped demand out there for an actual selection of budget-friendly long-length curtains.
