Glam Work Spaces That Will Make You Want To Get Your Work Done!

I know I’m not alone when I share that our home office is often much more of a disorganized storage closet than it is the calm, quiet workspace that I need to actually get things done.  Wheels are in motion to address the space now, but I don’t quite have it all figured out just yet.  That’s why I’m scouring the internet for some inspiration to create a space that’s as beautiful as it is functional.

Modern design has made is lean so far into a form-centered mentality that function is often overlooked.  Function should take a priority in a workspace, but that doesn’t mean giving up on beautiful aesthetics if you take the time and effort to carefully plan the look and feel while taking into account practical storage and flow (you’ve got to have easy access to that printer, even in 2016, y’all).

Via DOMAINEHOME.COM, not everyone has –or needs– a dedicated office room.  This beautiful space is actually in a spacious master closet with a cozy chair and the necessities.  Everything is tied into a color scheme – and one my my favorites, white + soft pink + gold.  There is even a great view.

This is a space I love… great built ins and a beautiful view.  A cozy chair for you and a visitor.  There’s even a nook for the dogs which is a very real need for this of us who work from home.  Would love to know the source of this image!

Opt for a desk with drawers and beautiful details.  Don’t forget you can always opt to paint it!  A cozy chair is always a must.  This space also works well for the color scheme.  These days there are so many options for office and desk accessories.  No need to feel stuck with black & grey!  For me, I’d switch out the decorative tray for useful things like my computer and a pencil tray, but the natural light in this space is lovely as well.

You’ll want to see more of the Hello Fashion Blog’s home office make over here!  Cozy and chic.  Don’t you want to snuggle up in that gorgeous chair with your toes nestled in that rug?  I’ve found limited affordable options of beautiful “office” chairs, so don’t box yourself in.  Look for something you’ll want to sit down and work long hours in.

Sometimes your “office” is a corner of a kitchen.  I bootstrapped my own business out of a kitchen desk before upgrading to an office.  Of course, who would need a study with a gorgeous nook like this one?  It’s the perfect family work space, again, with an ultra-cozy chair and soothing color scheme.

There’s a bit of an idea of where I’m headed with my home office make-over.  My biggest mistakes when doing it the first time were picking trendy sleek, metal, minimalist furniture when what I really wanted and needed is a cozy, organized space with plenty of storage for all of my assorted businesses, projects, crafting tools, and accessories.
