Customized Disney World Autograph Books

It’s nearly that time for us again, we are headed back to Disney World!  One of the highlights for our kids is always getting character autographs.  I looked into making out own autograph books this year because the options offered by Disney, although beautiful, don’t have a lot of pages unless you get the value book that doesn’t hold photos.  We filled our 25-photo books last year in 3 days, but are equipped this year with a new set of 25-photo books and a plan to get only one autograph per character in the new books.  We are bringing index cards should the desire to collect 5 Minnie Mouse and 3 Cinderella autographs arise again.  The kids are on-board (for now).

The Disney Parks autograph books are nicely made.  They are available from the Disney Store as well as at just about any shop in the Disney World and Disney Land areas.  I still like ordering ahead so that we are prepared to head to the park bright & early on the first day without making a stop in a shop.  You never know when a character will be waiting at the entrance.  They often are!

Between my embroidery machine and Silhouette Cameo, my kids pretty much expect everything to be personalized.  Fortunately, I love doing it!  In the craziness of getting ready for a trip, it’s so nice to have beautiful autograph and photo books already made and ready to go.  It took less than 5 minutes to make these vinyl decals with vinyl from a bundle on Amazon.  Using the free Silhouette Studio software and a free Minnie font, I cut and transferred the vinyl decals onto the front of the books.

It’s nice when you have kids who like matching items to have them personalized.  Now we can quickly hand the books off when we come across a character while completely avoiding the “who’s is who’s” drama.

These particular books don’t come with pens, which is fine because we prefer the retractable Sharpie pens anyway.  They seem easier for characters to handle in full customs and we know the autographs will hold up even in the inevitable Florida humidity and rain.

Last year, we purchased the Princess version of these books and I added a monogram.  I have a post on making the monogram since it’s a bit trickier than the simple text above.

I do wish our new books ad the loop for the pen, I may see if I can add a loop myself.  The princess books above are still available as of this post if it suits your Disney fan a bit better.

We used our Canon Selphy photo printer to print the photos at home and they turned out great.  Our girls look at these books often!
