Christmas decorations are one of those things that we accumulate over the years. Last year, I bought my first “nice” nutcracker and bought a few outdoor decorations in an after-Christmas sale. We still need new lights and a ton of additional outdoor decor, but we’re finally getting the inside stuff taken care of without picking through leftovers at any crazy sales (and without breaking the bank). I used a box of Dollar Tree items to create a festive display in our entry and I LOVE it! Isn’t it amazing how many things you can cross off your holiday “to do” list…and for just $1.00 each?
First, let’s talk about the centerpiece. This was a quickie, super-easy, anyone-can-do-it project.
First I took a Dollar Tree wreath foam hoop and wrapped it in Dollar Tree garland.
Then I added other Dollar Tree goodies like a poinsettia flower & some holly berries from floral, some gorgeous glittery birds (partridge in a pear tree, anyone?), and a glass Dollar Tree candle holder. Then I filled the circle with mini gold ornaments (12 for $1, seriously!) and topped the whole thing off with a metallic red flameless candle (2 for $1 at Dollar Tree) since real flames and my little children don’t mix. I love that they have festively colored flameless candles!
No glue was required and these items can be re-used in another way next year because this display isn’t permanent. I love that!
I placed everything on a burlap runner that I had on-hand since burlap is still having a serious moment. Dollar Tree even has burlap poinsettias that my daughters loved and insisted on placing behind the Christmas centerpiece.
You know I love things in groupings of three’s. There are 3 sections for this display, the centerpiece is flanked by decor to either side. On the left, I placed more Dollar Tree festive floral bits into an antique silver vase that has a permanent home on our entry buffet and carried the mixed-metallics theme back into the display with a Dollar Tree glitter star. The star and even the nutcracker were also only $1 each. Everything’s $1….So Everybody Leaves Happy.
On the right, I placed a family Christmas tree photo frame that I had on hand and displays photos from all of our family Christmases so far (including hilarious crying with Santa photos).
I paired the silver frame with an antique brass candlestick that I had on hand, but set a flameless Dollar Tree candle on it instead of a traditional candlestick. Created a nice look for an un-matched candlestick!
To finish my theme of three’s, I added a couple Dollar Tree pine cones as well. I couldn’t help adding a bit more sparkle with the glittery bows, also from Dollar Tree (and they come in a larger size as well).
Isn’t it amazing how many things you can cross off your holiday “to do” list…and for just $1.00 each? Dollar Tree is your holiday headquarters, and one-stop shop for $1 seasonal decorations.
I love how the entry way turned out and it only took a few Dollar Tree items and a few minutes. No after-Christmas Sale rush here!
We are having a busy season and I can’t wait to share more of what we’ve been up to in the coming weeks and months!
